From the moment our boots first hit the red soil, it was clear this was a more magical, more genuine world.
We were introduced to bizarre landscapes very clearly not intended for humans.
We were often caught between a paradise and a wilderness that forced its inhabitants to keep one eye to the future and one eye to the past.
With the guidance of newfound friends, we ventured forth into those untamed regions, occasionally stumbling upon hidden oases of Western comforts.
